The insured acquired the policy from an agent far from his home or business
There is a loss shortly after the issuance of the policy
The policy is the insured’s first Jewelers’ Block insurance policy
The loss is to the total inventory of the jeweler.
The majority of the insured’s inventory is on memo (consignment) or long term notes
The insured has policy limits in excess of the values at hand

Each indicator checked is important. If three or more are checked there is a potential for a suspected fraudulent claim and the file should be referred to your SIU, FIMAT.
No single indicator, or combination of indicators, makes a claim fraudulent. It only indicates that a file deserves a more intense investigation by your SIU, FIMAT.
